Secure Solutions

When Fighting Hydrostatic Pressure

When water accumulates near a foundation wall with nowhere to go, the weight of the water and soil adds up quickly.  Things can really get scary when gutters are clogged, or when downspout extensions aren't far enough away from the home.  There are solutions including, french drains, drain tile, sump pumps, grading, crack repair, and more.  If your walls aren't stabilized, that pressure of the water can cause your walls to move, affecting the upstairs of your home.

Deadman Anchors, Crack Repair

Vertical Steel Wall Restraints

Vertical Steel Wall Restraints aka I beams are installed to stabilize foundation walls from bowing in.  When foundation walls are stabilized, it is very hard for a crack to expand.  Foundation walls can move in and out within the seasons; however they won't move in any further than where we install our beams.  The beams are secured to the wall with angle iron we fasten to the floor joists.

Earth Anchors

Earth Anchors/Deadmen Anchors are great to have when fighting bowing walls.  Earth anchors do not take up much room only coming out about 3" from the foundation rather than the 4" I beams.  Both stabilize and keep the foundation secure from inward wall movement.  Deadmen are a better alternative when a work area is crowded or limited.   An althread rod is pushed through the foundation wall and cross-braced in an underground concrete trench 10-12' away from your foundation wall. We use a steel plate and nut to secure the plate is tight against the wall to prevent further inward movement.
